Hi, I’m Seri (She/Her) and I am the founder of Boston Queers.

I am so glad that you are here! I created Boston Queers as a place to celebrate, center, and promote queer owned and inclusive businesses in New England. When my fiance and I started planning our wedding, it was a priority to us to support queer owned businesses. To our surprise, we found it to be more of a challenge than we initially expected to locate queer owned businesses. We found ourselves wishing for a comprehensive, easy to navigate, single resource/directory that we could use to source our vendors. From there, the idea for Boston Queers was born.

My hope and mission is for Boston Queers to become more than a directory. We are an online community comprised of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies.

How to Navigate Our Website

Every business on Bostonqueers.com falls into one of two categories. They are either a “queer owned” business meaning the company is owned and operated by an individual or individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, OR they are an "inclusive business", meaning that they make a distinct and intentional effort to support the LGBTQ+ community. Queer owned businesses are highlighted in yellow and inclusive businesses are highlighted in orange.

Important note on our use of the term "queer": We recognize that the term "queer" has a complex history that holds both pain and empowerment to many and it can mean many things to many different people. To us, “queer” is an all-encompassing, all-embracing term for anyone and everyone who finds home within the greater LGBTQIA+ community.
